Nuclear power is a clean and reliable source of energy that can meet the growing demand for electricity in the world. Nuclear power plants (NPPs) use nuclear fission to generate heat, which is then used to produce steam that drives turbines and generators. According to the World Nuclear Association, there were 443 operable reactors in 32 countries as of January 2023, with a total net capacity of about 392 gigawatts (GW)
