As part of our `Watts Up?` series focused on young people in clean energy jobs, we hear from Skye McInally, who originally began an Engineering Modern Apprenticeship with SSE Renewables in 2021 and has since progressed on to study a Higher National Diploma as a Trainee Engineer. Hydropower has made a valuable contribution to the UK energy mix over many decades and accounts for 2% of total electricity generation in the UK. But what`s it like working at a hydro-power site? Skye shares her journey with us, tells us why working in clean power should be something more people consider and why it`s exciting to come to work!
