Jul 9, 2026 - Indianapolis airport installs solar panel canopies on parking lot to help power terminal Anyone who has driven to Indianapolis International Airport has for years seen the massive solar farm on the outskirts of the property. One hundred and eighty seven acres of solar panels produce about 25 megawatts of energy, enough to power 3,000 homes. That power all goes back to the common electric grid.
