Aug 23, 2025 - China`s Xinjiang caps its "desert sunflower" 100,000-kilowatt solar power tower Xinjiang on Aug. 19 capped the 189-meter “heart” of its Luneng Fukang solar thermal plant. So far, 70% of the heliostats have been installed. Once finished, the 100,000-kilowatt plant will power about 80,000 homes, cut coal use by 40,000 tons and slash carbon emissions by 140,000 tons every year. The 6-billion-yuan project is part of a larger 1-million-kilowatt clean-energy hub that also includes vast solar PV fields. Similar news:
