Sep 16, 2026 - How Pakistan`s Power Crisis Sparked A People-Driven Solar Revolution

Energy supply disruptions due to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz have resulted in skyrocketing electricity prices and supply disruptions across Pakistan. Countrywide power shortfall has reached 4,500 megawatts - enough power to light up 4 million homes. It costs more than USD 4 billion dollars annually to the economy.
But a citizen-ran solar revolution in bridging the gap, helping power industries, farms and homes across Pakistan.
