Dec 12, 2024 - 12th National Grid Collapse in Nigeria in 2024 Nigeria`s national power grid collapsed again on Wednesday, marking the 12th failure in 2024 and causing a nationwide blackout. According to the Nigerian System Operator, the grid recorded zero megawatts at 2pm. Both the Abuja and Jos Electricity Distribution Companies confirmed the widespread outage. This follows several other collapses throughout the year, leading to frequent blackouts.
