Dec 1, 2024 - Energy operator wants the power to switch off rooftop solar in some circumstances The Australian Energy Market Operator wants "emergency backstop" powers to switch off or turn down rooftop solar systems in every state. AEMO says the powers are needed by next year for extreme situations as it grapples with ever-increasing amounts of rooftop solar output.
