Dec 12, 2022 - UK `wind drought` means future of renewable energy hangs in balance

Britain is in the middle of what scientists are calling a `wind drought`.
Average wind speed is expected to drop by 10% by the end of the century, which could have huge implications for the future of renewable energy in the UK.
The government has a target to ramp up offshore wind capacity and turn off gas and coal power stations by 2035.
