Oconee Nuclear Station is located in Seneca, South Carolina and is one of the largest nuclear power plants in the country. The plant is home to three reactors that provide enough reliable power for 1.9 million homes. It was the first U.S. nuclear plant to use digital sensors to monitor operations and the first nuclear plant to generate more than 500 million megawatt-hours of electricity. Oconee is also the first Duke Energy plant cleared to operate for 80 years and will operate through 2053-2054.
