Revelstoke Dam, it is a concrete gravity dam on the Columbia River. BC Hydro owns and operates the facility. It is part of a larger power generation and flood control complex in the province. The dam is one in a series for flood control during spring runoff and heavy rain as well as for power generation. The dams resevior is fed by the discharge of the Mica dam and kinbaskett lake up the big bend of the columbia. We explore the inside of the dam and powerhouse. The dam is an active site, but it is also a visitor center. There is much to see about the dam how it works. You can go to the top of the dam and look out at the beautiful Columbia River Valley and big bend country!
