About the Author

The late Prabha S. Kundur was president and CEO of Powertech Labs and an adjunct professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Kundar was the recipient of numerous awards, including the IEEE Nikola Tesla Award, the IEEE PES Charles Concordia Power System Engineering Award, and the 2010 IEEE Medal in Power Engineering.

Om P. Malik is Professor Emeritus at the University of Calgary, Canada. He has done extensive research in the application of Digital and Adaptive Control, and Artificial Intelligence to Power Systems Control and Protection and published over 800 papers including over 400 papers in international journals, and has co-authored three books: Electric Distribution Systems and its revised edition, Power System Stability, and Power Grids with Renewable Energy.
